The Kenwood House wedding of Joshua & Hannah

Joshua & Hannah chose the wonderful surroundings of Kenwood House as their wedding venue for their Anglo/Canadian wedding. I started the day photographing Joshua and the boys at home before heading over to Hannah’s parents house to get the final preparations of the bride and bridesmaids before heading off to Kenwood House for the ceremony and reception. The wedding ceremony took place in the Music Room which is full of historic portraits from the 18th century, after the ceremony the bride and groom made their way out to the beautiful flower garden for champagne and canapés on the lawn with it’s sweeping views over the parkland and grounds of Kenwood House.

After the wedding breakfast there we’re some very funny speeches and a few tears over toasts form the Brides father, the Groom and best man. I witnessed some awesome dance moves on the dance floor before making my way out to the front of Kenwood House for one closing shot of the newly married couple before making my way home.

English Heritage do an amazing job of looking after Kenwood House and if you are thinking of holding a wedding near London it would defiantly be on your list of wedding venues to check out.

A few kind words from the groom

Barrie Downie is a GENIUS.

From the moment I spoke to him on the phone to interview him I knew he was the right man for the job. He is incredibly knowledgeable on lighting and also very passionate.
From the moment he arrived he made everyone feel comfortable. He knew all the best angles for photographs as soon as he arrived. Even though the flat was small and dark the photos he took here were excellent. As I got dressed he took a few modelled shots which made it look like I actually knew how to put on a suit. Thanks for that Barrie.

At the wedding his attention to detail was uncomperable. As well as getting excellent photos of the ceremony, several group shots, and some great modelled photos of my new wife and I around our venue, he also got so many photos of our friends and family chatting which really captured the feel of the day.

If you’re looking for a wedding photographer, spend the extra money and hire a professional. I would recommend Barrie Downie a thousand times over to anyone who needed a photographer.
